Racing against the reaper
White-clad warriors shift to saviours
hurrying to halt the mutation
of the glowing benign to malignant
While we, the enduring innocents
countering experience with naive, fresh faith
stand transfixed on our appointed thresholds
held by the onslaught of sweat and syringe
A digital chime of failure
echoes poignantly through the stagnant air,
and darkly we retire
to our sanitary safety
silently awaiting the call-bell of battle.

The never-ending struggle of life and death. Shoot me, it's really obvious, but I like how I managed to integrate some light/dark similies, some pretty nifty alliteratons, and I think I did okay with the imagery.
However, does anyone else get the colour pale yellow when reading this thing? Ah well.
